87th Illinois State Women’s Amateur Championship
Dates: June 15 – 17, 2021
Location: Pine Meadow Golf Club, Mundelein, Illinois
Entry Deadline: Players for the qualifying round will be comprised of the applicants with the lowest 48 handicap indexes received by June 8, 2021. If the field is not full by the entry deadline, late entry requests may be accepted pending approval of the Championship Chair. Players should check the "Entries Received" list under the "Player Info" menu to confirm receipt of entry.
In the event of a full field, a waiting list will be established. Players who are affected will be contacted by the IWGA and the waiting list will be posted under the "Player Info" menu on this website. All players who are placed on the waiting list and are not offered a spot in the championship or who choose to not accept an offered spot will have their full entry fee refunded.
Registration: ** IMPORTANT ** All players must either register in person or by calling the State Am registration line at (815) 200-9820 on Monday June 14 between 11:00AM and 3:00PM
Format: The format is an 18-hole qualifying round to seed the 32-player match play Championship. Players who finish higher than 32nd place will be eliminated from the championship. In the event of a tie for the 32nd spot, a sudden-death playoff will immediately follow the qualifying round to determine the final player(s). A player who is not present at the start of the playoff will be eliminated from the championship.
Eligibility: Entry to the qualifying round is open to women amateur golfers who are residents of Illinois (have an Illinois driver’s license or pay taxes to Illinois) and have an 18-hole handicap index of 15 or less.
Entry Fee: The entry fee is $175 and includes a practice round, championship rounds, championship round warm-up balls and prizes. Refunds for cancellations prior to June 8 will have a $15 administrative fee deducted. No refunds will be given after June 8.
Practice Round: One practice round is included in the entry fee. Additional practice rounds are available at $49 with cart or $38 without. All practice rounds must be arranged by calling the pro shop at (847) 566-4653.
Pine Meadow Golf Club is an outstanding championship-quality venue that has been chosen as host for numerous USGA, CDGA, PGA , Illinois PGA and Web.Com qualifiers and championships. We were honored to have Pine Meadow host this championship in 2017 and were treated to extremely qualified staff in addition to a fine golf course and a world-class learning center.
Pine Meadow is also the home of the "Monday Ladies League" which draws competitive players from both private and public courses from all over the Chicago area. The 52-player league has an average handicap of 14 with the First Flight being comprised of players with handicaps of 10 or less. League players are drawn to the quality of the course coupled with a staff that recognizes the importance of women in the game of golf.
The Championship will be played from a combination of tees to achieve a total course distance of about 6,000 yards at par 72 and will include several enticing risk-reward options that will test players' match play decisions.
